hello everybody,
I figured I should do one last post for the year that has been 2008.
This Christmas season has been great so far. Christmas season started for me at church on the 14th, we sung some Christmas songs (I forgot how much I enjoyed these) and the weather outside was definitly frightful(-20, but sunny).
After finishing up the stressful week and a half of finals, and finding out i have to retake Finance, I flew down to visit my mom and step-dad in Utah. it was a fairly low key visit, but good and relaxing. we caught up, ate heaps of food and did some skiing as usual. It was awesome to see them. I came back home on the 23rd, after a 2 hour delay at the airport. it seems all of canada and almost all of the states have been hit hard with winter (snow in Las Vegas!)
on the 24th I saw Eagle Eye with some friends, it was good, then went to the Christmas eve service. It was awesome, one of my fav parts of christmas is the christmas eve service (aside from time with family, presents, and turkey dinner). that night I went to a Christmas eve family gather at Caleb and Matthias's oma and opas.
Christmas day i slept in and got to enjoy the joy of my niece and nephew getting presents and relaxing with family a bit while drinking a starbucks. we had a turkey dinner too.
on boxing day I went for lunch with Jake then to the Rayner's Oma and Opas for another Christmas dinner. Its hard not to be thankful for friends and family at this time of year.
Christmas can be a stressful time, but once you get through that and just enjoy it, its great. the next week will likely be busy for me too, but I am going to enjoy it.
I went to the lake today to shoot some puck around, but its not cleared yet. very suprised after all this weather we've had, i hope its cleared soon.
Looking back at 2008, it has been quite a year for me. new friendships, going away parties, Travelling to far away places, 3 mission trips (i thought it was 2, but actually was 3), capernwray bible school, snorkeling, sailing, taking heaps of pictures, a roadtrip, discovering a ton of new music, more new friendships, new perspectives, deepening of my faith, a new nephew, spending time with my nephew and niece, relationships, going to the CFL west final, going to rugby and AFL games, Stamps won the Grey cup, first semester at university, new traditions (wing wednesday), moving downstairs, sightseeing, chopsticks, challenges, Hillsong recording/conference, confidence, made a DVD, and countless other things and experiences I have had this year. It has been an amazing year that I will never forget, hopefully 2009 will be just as amazing (but it will probably be in different ways than 2008)
not sure what else to say, Merry Christmas everybody, hope yours was great, and enjoy the new year. thankyou to everyone for the gifts you have given me and thanks be to God for giving us your son.
thanks for reading,
Adam
